CODE OF CONDUCT

The Code of Conduct is absolutely vital for The Beach Clean Network to be a success. Please take a moment to read it and make sure that you stick to it at all times.

Organising beach cleans

• To organise beach cleans you must agree to abide by the code of conduct.
• It is your responsibility to behave properly at all times.
• You must observe local laws or byelaws when it comes to organising beach cleans. This includes rules of parking, trespass and conduct.
• As a organiser you are representing the Beach Clean Network and, as such, we ask that you do not endanger the good reputation or work of others by engaging in anti social behaviour or actions.
• Alcohol: is banned from all Beach Cleans unless sanctioned by you for barbecues or post clean up events.
• Drugs: all recreational drugs are banned from all beach cleans at any time. There are no exceptions.
• Swearing: children may be present at beach cleans so please make every effort to moderate your language.
• Sexual harassment: anyone attending beach cleans does so out of good will. Do not spoil their day with unwanted sexual advances or lewd behaviour of any kind.
• You organise beach cleans at your own risk. Third party may be available as part of the Marine Conservation Society’s Beach Watch Scheme but we cannot, at present offer it to our organisers. So, whilst we ask that you take every precaution to protect volunteers from accidents and injury, The Beach Clean Network, cannot be held responsible for the injury, accident or death of any volunteer whilst on a beach clean.
